Do amalgam fillings release mercury and is that mercury deposited in the body? According to research done on primates and published in the scientific journal Experimental and Molecular Pathology Volume 52, Issue 3, June 1990, Pages 291-299, it certainly does. Amalgam fillings were placed in some monkey’s teeth, others were given maxillary bone implants of amalgam, while others received no amalgam so they could function as controls. After one year all of the monkeys were sacrificed and the tissue of various organs were studied. The results: tissues from monkeys with amalgam fillings showed mercury deposits in spinal ganglia, anterior pituitary, adrenal, medulla, liver, kidneys, lungs, and intestinal lymph glands. Tissues from monkeys with amalgam implants showed very similar results of mercury deposits. Exceptions being mercury was not found in their liver, lungs, and intestinal lymph glands. No mercury was found in the tissue of the control monkeys. The full scientific article is available here. |
