Our office uses the correct protocol to safely remove your old mercury amalgam fillings. We use a combination of the Hudgin's protocol and the Optimum Health Protocol.

We work closely with several Holistic doctors in various locations throughout Georgia.   By frequent communication with your treating specialist we ensure that the removal is done in an approved manner.  We are happy to provide your practitioner with materials for testing, if requested.  We also provide safe removal techniques for amalgam existing under old crowns and bridges.  In addition, we can safely remove crowns and bridges that contain various types of metals that could be systemically harmful.

We believe the best and most bio-compatible restorations after the removal of silver amalgams are either porcelain inlays, onlays or crowns.  There is no metal used in any of these.  Even our bridges have no metal in them.  By using the CEREC cad/cam milling machine, we are usually able to make the porcelain inlays, onlays or crowns the same day as the amalgam removal so there is no lengthy waiting period and no necessity for temporary restorations.  We also do composite (white non-metallic) fillings for those needing an alternative.

We routinely use the Biolase Waterlase laser to sterilize each preparation before the new restoration is placed. The laser kills essentially all bacteria at the preparation site and helps to condition the enamel and dentin for better adhesion of the inlay, onlay, etc.
