TOPIC: alternatives to amalgams
#20
alternatives to amalgams 2 Years, 1 Month ago
I've been diagnosed with breast cancer and want to get the mercury out of my mouth. However, I discovered that the composite fillings that are the replacement for the silver amalgams are estrogenic, leaking synthetic estrogen into the body, which is what I've been trying to avoid by going organic. Is there a different alternative, and which one--mercury or synthetic estrogen--would be worse for someone with breast cancer?

Also--I live in Alaska. No mercury free dentists listed.

Hello Polly,

I sent you the contact information via e-mail of 3 dentists in Alaska that are IAOMT members and should meet your needs. One of our dental professionals will answer the remainder of your question soon.

You have a very appropriate question and concern. Many years ago there was a reference to that effect (estrogen leaking from composits) in a journal article from a european country. Shortly after hearing about this reference I attended a seminar by Dr. Gordon Christiansen. He is the founder and director of a very large research facility and publishes the monthly Clinicians Report. I asked him if there was any scientific support for this claim. He said there was none--that it was entirely falacious. More recently the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology)has conducted a study and reported the same--no effect on human estrogen from composite fillings.
So, I would encourage you to have your mercury-releasing fillings removed with the proper precautions. For your encouragement, I know of one patient who was told her breast cancer was gone a few months after she had her amalgams replaced. She also had changed to a mostly raw, plant-based diet. Blessings, Dr. Clark

Thank you. I will do so. I, too, have changed to a mostly plant-based raw diet.
